The MTK Foundation is adding a new dynamic to our list of services and things we support. While helping children and families afflicted with this disease will always be at the center of our foundation, we recognize that the end game is finding a cure. We are directly funding cutting edge research at the Texas Tech University Health Science Center, who's goal is to find a cure for pediatric cancer and to help limit the sometimes lasting effects of current treatments.
We are also pleased to announce that the STAR Act (https://www.congress.gov/bill/115th-congress/house-bill/820), which had garnishing unanimous support in congress was passed into law. These and other legislative undertakings are geared to directly take on pediatric cancer and hopefully lay the ground work for cures.
The MTK Foundation, the Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center (TTUHSC) Schools of Medicine and Pharmacy and the TTUHSC Department of Pediatrics in Amarillo announced a partnership to fund cutting edge research pertaining to pediatric cancer that will take place in Amarillo.
